Actor-turned-congressman Javi Benitez had nothing but kind words for former girlfriend Sue Ramirez during a recent interview, even expressing support for her relationship with actor Dominic Roque.
The Negros Occidental 3rd District representative was recently asked by members of the press about Ramirez’s recent remarks, where the actress shared how “lucky” she feels to be with Roque and revealed that she is open to starting a family with him in the future.
Benitez responded positively, saying he remains genuinely happy for his ex-girlfriend.
“I’m very happy for her. Wala akong masabing masama about sa kanya,” he said.
The politician also praised Ramirez’s talent and career, calling her one of the industry’s most “underrated” actresses.
“And I still believe that she is one of the most accomplished and yet still underrated actresses of her time. So, very happy ako sa kanya,” he added.
Benitez also reflected on their former relationship, which lasted for five years, “Oo, five years. ‘Yun ang longest relationship ko, five years,” he shared.
When asked about his thoughts on Ramirez and Roque’s relationship, Benitez admitted he believes the pair may eventually end up together for good.
“Feeling ko, sila na magiging endgame. Yan ang prediction ko,” he said.
“Well, both of them want to get married and have kids. Nagsabi naman po siya, ‘di ba? So, feeling ko, magiging sila. Tsaka bagay sila, ‘di ba? Happy ako para sa kanila,” he added.
Meanwhile, Benitez remained private about his own romantic life, only describing himself as “happy” at the moment.
“Happy ako. I am low-key — baka in the future masabi ko. Self-happiness. Mahirap isabay with work — especially since start ng Congress. Need mag-focus,” he explained.
The congressman added that balancing public service, further studies, and responsibilities between Manila and Negros Occidental has kept him busy in recent months.
“I’m also taking further studies. Unlike when I was mayor also, doon lang ako. Ngayon, kailangan ko ngayon Manila and there,” he said.
Javi and Sue announced their breakup in November 2024 after five years together. A month later, Dominic confirmed his relationship with Sue following months of dating rumors that surfaced after her split with the politician.
Roque was previously engaged to actress Bea Alonzo before announcing the end of their relationship in July 2024.
