Xerenade’s Milo Cruz, known for his role as Tonton in Bagets: The Musical reacted to his close resemblance to actor Matteo Guidicelli and Sixto Dantes, the son of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.
In a recent episode of #OnTheRise uploaded on The Philippine STAR’s YouTube Channel, Milo giggly talked about the comments he received from fans about his “Kalokalikes” Sixto and Matteo.
“Makikita n’yo guys ‘yung anak ni Dingdong. Hala, si Sixto! So kuya talaga ako ni Sixto guys,” he said in jest after showing his baby photo.
“High school days pa meron nung nagsasabi na kamukha ko si Mateo [Guidicelli]. Kasi nung high school days ko, sobrang payat ko eh. I was very thin nung time na ‘yun. Parang mas nag-mature lang ‘yung metabolism ko ng college,” he added.
In the same interview, Milo got candid about his humble beginnings as he discovered his talent for singing.
“I’ve been joining inter-school competitions ever since Grade 1. Usually nasasama ako sa duet. I found out na I think I’m a bit good at this field. So parang why not pursue it?” he shared.
Milo’s father is an OFW in Singapore. Despite the distance, he said that his parents have been very supportive of his passion for music.
“Sa lahat ng competitions ko, alam ko nandyan si mom,” he noted.
But just like other journeys, Milo recalled a point in his career where he thought music wasn’t for him.
“Nag-audition ako sa The Voice Teens. There were callbacks pero talagang hindi kaya ng experience ko at that moment. Sobrang hilaw ko pa,” he said.
In October 2024, their vocal group “Xerenade” signed with Viva.
After intense training and workshops, he admitted that they felt impatient on their journey.
“It just came to a point of questioning ano nga ba ang nangyari. When will we find our way? It was just our fate that kept us going, and we just believed in ourselves na, “One day,” he noted.
“Parang it makes us hungry for success and parang to keep that burning passion alive. It was a big deal for us to experience na ngayon nakapag-release na kami ng debut single and hopefully more. Parang regardless kung saan ako mapadpad, parang I just really gave it all,” he added.
When asked about his relationship status, Milo was quick to answer, “I’m single and ready to mingle.”
But added, “I think mas better na patibayan ko muna ‘yung foundation ng livelihood ko para masustentuhan ko lahat ng gusto mo [future partner].”
