Kris Lawrence responds after Alvin Aragon admits he stole singer’s cellphone

A past incident involving Alvin Aragon and R&B singer Kris Lawrence resurfaced online after Aragon admitted to stealing from several individuals, including Lawrence.

Aragon recently drew attention anew online after a circulating video showed him confessing to past thefts during his early days in showbiz.

“Marami akong ninakawan. Nung napasok ako sa showbiz, dun ako nagnanakaw,” the former StarStruck talent admitted.

“Nagnanakaw ako ng cellphone din. Si Kris Lawrence, ‘yung singer, ninakawan ko ng cellphone ‘yun sa bahay niya. Meron pang isa eh, co-worker ko sa showbiz. Kinuhanan ko siya ng almost P40,000 sa bahay niya,” he confessed.

“I spent the money sa pagma-mall, pagbili ng material things. Ganoon ako ka-loko loko…Nagnanakaw ako. Magnanakaw ako,” Alvin added.

Following Aragon’s confession, Lawrence addressed the matter on TikTok, recounting how the incident unfolded in 2006.

“The year is 2006. Gusto naming lumabas ni Jay R nung gabi na ’yon. We went to the Tomas Morato area. […] We’re at the bar, nakilala ko si Alvin. I think he was with two or three other people,” Kris recalled.

“Nagsasara na ’yung bar. Medyo bitin kami sa inuman, so ininvite ko sila sa bahay, pumunta naman sila. So they came to the house. We started drinking in the studio. Pansin namin, sumisikat na ’yung araw. Pack up na and umalis na sila.”

Lawrence said he later realized that his cellphone had gone missing. According to PEP.ph’s report, the unit was a Sony Ericsson P900.

“When I was going back to my room, I noticed na nawawala ’yung cellphone ko. Hanap ako nang hanap, wala ngani. Tinawagan ko ’yung isang friend niya… Sabi nila, wala. Wala daw silang nakitang cellphone,” he shared.

After a few days, Kris received a call that eventually revealed Alvin as the the one who took his cellphone, “I think, na-guilty ’yung isang friend niya, and inamin na si Alvin nga ang kumuha.”

The singer recalled confronting Aragon about the incident.

“I was like, ‘Dude why would you do that? Why would you steal from me in my own house bro? That’s so disrespectful’,” Kris narrated his reaction. “Nag-sorry siya and honestly my fists were balled up. Gusto ko siyang suntukin pero I know that violence is never the answer.”

“I said ‘It’s okay’ pero medyo binibigyan ko pa rin siya ng attitude which is understandable naman kasi ninakaw nga niya yung cellphone ko.”

Despite the incident, Lawrence said he has since moved forward and expressed belief that Aragon has changed over the years.

“That was 2006, I know he’s in a better place now. I know he’s Christian, and alam ko naman, mabait si Alvin,” he said, clearing up things.

The singer ended his video on a light note, jokingly telling Aragon, “Ikaw kasi Alvin eh. Kinalimutan ko na yun pinaalala mo pa.”

Kris also playfully asked whether the phone had ever been returned, quipping, “Oo nga, naibalik mo ba?”
