A few brands have either backed or dropped Maris Racal as their endorser amid the actress’ cheating controversy with reel partner Anthony Jennings.
In a recent sighting by netizens, local coffee brand San Mig Coffee has removed most of the photos featuring Maris and Anthony from its official Instagram page, leaving only one image of Maris.
The brand also disabled comments on their posts, which has sparked speculation about their stance on the controversial issue surrounding the two.
This move comes shortly after cosmetics brand Dazzle Me PH announced the termination of its endorsement deal with Racal, citing the need to “remain consistent with the principles that guide their brand.”
Maris was their first-ever celebrity brand ambassador.
The said decisions from the companies reflects the ongoing fallout from the cheating allegations involving Maris and Anthony, which have gone viral on social media.
In contrast, skincare brand Snail White Philippines has shown public support for Maris amid the controversy.
In its Instagram story, the brand shared a reassuring message: “To err is human, to forgive is divine, keep glowing.”
Moreover, renowned celebrity dermatologist Dra. Vicki Belo remained supportive of the actress with reports confirming that Maris is still considered a “Belo baby”.
Dra. Vicki herself assured in an interview with the press that they will not abandon her saying, “Of course. She’s a Belo baby and therefore family. We love her!”
Additionally, Maris’s posters continue to be displayed in Belo branches.
Despite the ongoing controversy, other brands have yet to make any public statements about their partnership with the artists.
Pinoy fast food chain Mang Inasal, energy drink brand Sting, and snack brand Lay’s Philippines, despite rumors about removing Maris and Anthony as their endorsers, has kept photos of the two on its social media pages.
Similarly, hair care brand Vitress, which recently announced Maris as a brand ambassador, continues to feature her in posts, with the latest one being a video posted on their Facebook page on December 2.
While both Maris and Anthony have released statements addressing the issue surrounding their alleged relationship amid the actor’s long-term commitment to his non-showbiz girlfriend, the two have yet to comment on the recent developments affecting their endorsements and careers.
