K-pop star HyunA is set to wed her boyfriend, former HIGHLIGHT member Yong Junhyung, their agencies have confirmed.
K-news outlet Soompi earlier reported that the couple’s respective talent agencies, AT AREA, and BLACK MADE, said that the two idols will be holding their wedding ceremony with close acquaintances on October 11 in Seoul, South Korea.
“HyunA and Yong Junhyung, who have been a great source of comfort to each other during difficult times, have promised marriage. They will hold a wedding with close acquaintances in October and begin a new life,” HyunA’s agency wrote in their official statement.
Junhyung’s company likewise confirmed the upcoming nuptials, stating, “Yong Junhyung and HyunA, with deep affection and trust for each other, have decided to hold a wedding with close acquaintances this October.
“We would appreciate warm interest and blessings for Yong Junhyung as he embarks on a new chapter of his life as a married couple [with HyunA].”
The couple first publicized their controversial relationship on January 18 when both Korean idols posted the same holding hands photo on their respective Instagram accounts.
Eventually, both of their agencies responded in the same tone that their relationship was a personal matter.
Their relationship was deemed controversial due to Yong Junhyung’s alleged involvement with a group chat that circulated illegal camera footage.
Following the allegations, Yong Junhyung addressed said rumors in a lengthy Instagram post.
The two were former labelmates under Cube Entertainment and are now sealing their romance with a wedding.
