Anne Curtis found herself responding to a netizen’s unsolicited advice regarding her social media content.
On Monday, January 22, the actress-TV host extended warm birthday greetings to Mary Ann Ontay, her personal assistant for the past 24 years.
The celebrity mom expressed her love and appreciation for Ontay by sharing adorable photos of them embracing as well as an image of Mary Ann carrying Anne’s daughter, Dahlia.
“To our dearest @meanontay, happy happy birthday. We are so blessed to have you as part of our family. We love you so much Dahlia’s Tita Me! Happy happy birthday! ?,” Anne captioned the post.
The comment section was flooded with birthday wishes from fans, celebrity friends including Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban, Iza Calzado and It’s Showtime co-hosts Ryan Bang and Jugs Jugueta, among others.
However, one user’s comment caught the attention of both fans and Anne herself.
The netizen suggested that Anne should have posted the message on her Instagram Story instead of her feed, saying it was inappropriate for the latter.
“Happy Birthday po!! Pero suggest ko lang you can post it nalang sa story ung birthday greetings instead IG post, since hindi po bagay sa IG feed niyo po,” the comment read.
Anne promptly addressed the remark, explaining that Mary Ann deserved to be featured on her Instagram feed, considering the assistant’s status as part of her family.
She emphasized that her feed is not meticulously curated, making the suggested distinction unnecessary.
“She’s a family member so bagay talaga sya sa feed ko?? plus hindi naman curated feed ko. So walang ganyan ganyan,” Anne explained.
Despite the unsolicited advice, Anne Curtis maintained her composure, thanking the netizen for the suggestion.
“But thank you sa suggestion ?” Anne politely concluded, a gesture of valuing her fans’ opinions while maintaining her personal choices on her own social media content.
