Boy Abunda opened up about his reunion with his former hosting partner Kris Aquino in the US who is currently undergoing treatment for her autoimmune disease.
Kris initially shared about their heartwarming meeting on her Instagram page last Oct. 27, where she shared about Boy becoming emotional when they talked about her medications and ongoing treatment.
In the Tuesday episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, the King of Talk did not deny the emotional nature of their reunion, which he also clarified to have happened on Oct. 25.
“It was a happy, beautiful reunion,” the veteran host described their meeting.
“Dahil matagal kaming hindi nagkita ni Kris, text lamang at telepono lang kami nagkakausap. It was different seeing her,” he added.
“Tatanggapin ko po, ako ay naging emosyunal. Sinabi rin naman ito ni Kris, I was emotional. Pinipigilan ko pong hindi umiyak pero naiyak po ako, na-miss ko si Kris,” Boy admitted, airing his desire to meet each other again.
Due to their long separation, they had a lot to catch up on, including Kris’s current health situation.
Boy took the opportunity to clear reports about Kris’ extended stay in the U.S. for another 15 or 18 onths and said that it might be due to the availability of the necessary medication and the accessibility to doctors.
However, he noted that “nobody’s sure” about the case, even Kris herself.
“‘Yung kanyang health condition [ay] pabagu-bago, nagbabago. Kaya sabi nga niya, ‘Boy, baka hindi accurate’,” Boy shared.
He continued, “Hayaan niyo po, we will be giving you updates sa mga darating na panahon.”
During their meeting, Kris’s youngest son, Bimby, jokingly felt like he was back to the age of four while they were chatting, reminiscent of watching his mother and Boy on their famous talk shows on ABS-CBN—The Buzz and Aquino and Abunda Tonight.
“Sabi ko nga kay Kris, ‘Kris, magpagaling ka. Gagawa tayo ng palabas’.” Boy said.
Boy also conveyed Kris’s gratitude to everyone praying for her recovery, “She wanted me to let you know na sobra ang kanyang pasasalamat na hindi niya kinakailangang kaibigan, kakilala, katrabaho o kamag-anak, but alam niya maraming… nagdarasal ang lahat, maraming nagdarasal para sa kanya.”
“Pakisabi maraming, maraming, maraming salamat,” Boy quoted Kris.
