Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the popular American TV series Friends, has passed away at the age of 54, US media reported.
Several media outlets have reported that Perry died in an apparent drowning accident at his Los Angeles home.
According to information from law enforcement insiders cited by the Los Angeles Times, Perry was found in an unresponsive state in a hot tub at his residence.
Both the LA Times and TMZ, which first broke the story, indicated that anonymous sources mentioned no indications of foul play in the actor’s sudden death.
LA Times reported that the Los Angeles Police are currently investigating the incident, as of writing.
In the sitcom Friends, Perry starred alongside Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow where they played as a close-knit circle of friends residing in New York City.
The actor recently published his own memoir titled “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir,” where he disclosed about suffering from a ruptured colon at the age of 49 due to his struggle with opioid addiction.
