Angel Locsin reveals what it’s like preparing for a ‘pandemic wedding’

Planning a wedding, especially amid a pandemic, is not an easy task. This is why Angel Locsin has taken a much-needed break from social media to focus on planning her wedding with boyfriend Neil Arce.

Interviewed by Noel Ferrer on Radyo Katipunan’s Level Up, the actress said she needed to “detach” from social media for the meantime so she can plan her wedding smoothly.

“Darating yung time talaga na parang masyado ka na affected so kailangan mo muna mag detach and yun talaga yung kailangan ko kasi I’m planning a wedding,” she said.

Angel also spilled some details about her anticipated wedding. Since there is still a pandemic, she shared that it has to be held outdoors.

Her soon-to-be husband originally wanted a proper wedding event for his wife since she had never experienced a prom or a debut when she turned 18 years old.

“Yun yung mga dilemma ko ngayon na dati ang planadong-planado at plantsadong-plantsado, ngayon parang back-to-zero.

“Iba mag-plan ng pandemic wedding, kailangan mo i-consider ang safety ng lahat di lang yung gusto mo. Dati bride lang, kung ano gusto ng bride. Ngayon hindi. Kung ano ang safe na,” she shared.

Going back to basics isn’t all bad for the 35-year-old as she shared that their wedding planning journey has no “bridezilla” but rather a “groomzilla.” Angel happily shared that Neil is very hands-on with planning their special day.

“Never kaming nag-away sa anong dapat gawin sa wedding,” she said.

The Iba ‘Yan host made another revelation: she also needs to destress so she can have her eggs frozen soon. She said that she had this planned even before her home network ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal issue.

“I can’t do that na stressed so na-delay na ako ng one year. Yung schedule ko na yun, na-delay ko na nang na-delay ng one year. So this year kailangan ko na siyang asikasuhin,” she said.

When asked what her insights for the past eventful year were, Angel said 2020 was a year of realizations for everyone.

“2020 made us realize what’s important, made us stronger, and for me, mas naging aware tayo, especially mga kabataan sa mga issue,” she said.

It was not all personal realizations though. Angel said reaching out to other people made everyone more aware of what’s happening in other people’s lives.

Back in 2020, Angel made headlines multiple times for leading donation drives and other efforts to help out those who suffered from the pandemic and typhoons that hit the country.
