“Remembering my mom as I am now a mom.”
Newbie mom Alice Dixson honored her late mother in a heartfelt tribute and opened up about how she now truly appreciates the love and sacrifices her mom made.
The veteran actress reminisced all the way back to her mom’s humble beginnings — from selling halo-halo and fish to working on a farm while she was still young.
“I think she was around 33 when she met my father (love story for next time — kilig), and when I was born 37 na siya; my dad 43,” she wrote.
Alice shared that she and her mom shared the same fate with motherhood as they both had started it late in life.
“During those times in the mid-’60s, those stages were medyo late na mag start ng family — but they persevered because they wanted so much to have a child together,” she said.
The 51-year-old shared that her mom even tried all sorts of methods to conceive a child during her menopause phase.
“My 1st Mother’s Day passed & thought of how we celebrated for her. Ngayon ko lang talaga na appreciate at naramdaman ang sacrifices niya, all the love.
“And even if she didn’t get to meet her 8th apo in person, I know she’s watching over our little family,” she said.
Alice shocked netizens when she announced the arrival of her “newest little family member” on social media back in April.
“For those of you who really know me — you’ve known that I’ve been praying for this every year on my birthday for 10 years now. Each year — my wish the same when I blew out my candles,” she said.
