‘Kanya-kanyang trip lang yan’: Chito Miranda defends Pinoy K-pop fans from hate comment

Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito came to the defense of Filipino K-pop fans after he spotted a comment critical of them.

Audio streaming platform Spotify recently released its annual music roundup for 2020 through #SpotifyWrapped.

Chito on Thursday took to social media to express his pride and thanks over Parokya ni Edgar’s inclusion in Spotify Philippines’ list of Top OPM artists and Top Bands/Groups of 2020.

“Wow.

The vocalist, however, caught sight of a netizen’s comment dissing K-pop fans and global Korean acts BTS and Blackpink, while saying, “Tangkilikin ang sariling atin.”

As a response, Chito told the netizen of his admiration for K-pop idols: “Ako trip ko sila. Sobrang galing kaya nila.”

He went on to lecture netizens to respect each other’s music preferences instead.

“Bakit kayo galit sa trip ng iba? Di ba pwedeng iba trip nila sa trip mo tapos ok lang tayo lahat?

“Peace and respect lang parekoy. Kanya kanyang trip lang yan.”
