Jen Barangan apologizes over viral self-video at Olivia Rodrigo concert

Social media personality Jen Barangan has issued a public apology following the backlash over a self-video she posted during the recent “GUTS” Manila concert of Filipino-American pop star Olivia Rodrigo.

The video, which went viral, showed Barangan recording herself with her phone while she was singing along loudly during the concert held over the weekend at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Using Jen’s video as an example, an X user called out the concertgoers’ action of recording themselves with their devices’ flash turned on, sparking a barrage of similar reactions from other netizens.

Some concertgoers and netizens criticized the content creator for her behavior during the show, with many feeling that her singing disrupted the experience for others, while some defended her enthusiasm as part of the concert atmosphere.
