P-pop boy group BGYO has formally filed a complaint against those making malicious comments about them, reportedly including an unnamed showbiz personality.
In a report by PEP, all five members of the group, Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate, have personally gone to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office to sign their complaint affidavits on Wednesday, June 19.
According to PEP, BGYO’s camp was able to trace some of the netizens who have been complicit in “cyberbullying” the artists.
Furthermore, an unidentified celebrity is also involved among those being sued by the group.
As of writing, the members and camp of BGYO have yet to release a statement regarding the recent development of their legal battle against online bashers.
It can be recalled that Star Magic, the talent management of the quintet, along with P-pop girl group BINI, issued its joint statement addressing malicious online attacks and harmful accusations targeting its members.
Star Magic pointed out “cyberbullying and anti-libel laws” violated by online attacks and rumors circulating about the members’ alleged problematic behavior and actions, leading the hashtags “disbandBGYO” and “BGYO Out” to trend on X at the time.
BGYO recently dropped their comeback single with “Gigil”, which earned over 100,000 streams on Spotify while its performance video garnered over 100,000 YouTube views in a week after its release, according to ABS-CBN’s report.
