Local eatery criticized over alleged firing of food server for feeding stray animals

A local eatery in Quezon City is facing backlash after allegedly firing a crew member for feeding stray animals with leftover food from the establishment.

Content creator Baldawgs, whose real name is Ian Vhal Sardia, shared the alleged incident on his Facebook account after he was recently dismissed from his job at the local food store for feeding stray cats and dogs.

His post came with a video of him feeding an aspin with a meal from the local eatery.

Sardia expressed his gratitude to the store where he worked as a food server for five years, despite losing his job due to a video showing him feeding a stray dog during his off-duty or break times.

Baldawgs vowed to continue feeding and loving the animals he has come to care for, even after his departure, promising that his compassion for them will never disappear.

In the comments section of his post, Ian revealed more details about his dismissal which came with a screenshot of his text conversation with the store’s HR representative.

The crew shared the distressing experience when he was called by HR and asked to write a handwritten explanation letter, citing “disrespect” and “unsanitize” as reasons for his termination.

He was then pressured to sign a document he disagreed with, and when he refused, the HR officer allegedly became angry, locking the office door and preventing him from leaving.

“May pinapapirma po sa akin na against ako sa nakalagay. So hindi po ako pumirma nagalit yung Hr at sabe niya magtatagal daw kami dito sa loob ng office,” he recalled, “Nagpatawag ng other employee pinasara at pinabantay ang pinto para hindi ako makalabas sa office.”

This incident left Ian feeling scared and traumatized, especially as it was the first time something like this happened in his five years of service. He questioned if what he did was wrong and lamented losing his job as a result.

Following the incident, many netizens expressed their support for Baldawgs, praising his continued advocacy for stray dogs and cats.

He remains active in creating content about helping animals, with supporters sending donations to help fund his mission.
