‘Lugmok na lugmok ako’: Awra breaks silence on controversial brawl incident in Poblacion bar

Awra Briguela recently opened up about the brawl incident in Poblacion almost a year ago.

In a recent vlog hosted by star comedian Vice Ganda titled “My SpaghetTEA”, the 21-year-old Awra, who goes by the pronouns she/her, openly admitted to her faults, expressing remorse for her actions and stating that she has since grown stronger after what happened.

“I’m getting better, I’m getting stronger,” Awra said, “I owned up to my mistakes.”

During her time in custody, she struggled to come to terms with the reality of her situation, saying, “Nung nakulong ako, parang hindi ko pa rin siya ma-realize na nangyayari na sa ‘kin ‘yun.”

Despite her initial resistance, she eventually confronted her emotions, revealing a vulnerable side that she typically conceals from loved ones.

“Ako yung tao na di talaga kayang ipakita yung weakness ko sa taong mahal ko, kaya after nung what happened, kahit nung nakauwi na ako, syempre lugmok na lugmok ako, umiyak na ako, ‘yun yung time na ‘di ko na talaga kaya,” Awra recounted.

According to Vice, Awra has shown significant improvement in her demeanor since the incident and emphasized her talent’s acknowledgment of her mistakes and shortcomings.

“Alam naman nating lahat, ikaw din, na lahat kayo nagkamali. Lahat kayo may sobra at pagkukulang. Inamin mo naman ‘yun.”

Recalling the events of June last year, Briguela found herself arrested by Makati police following a scuffle involving her and her friends outside a bar in Poblacion.

“And nangyari kasi ‘di ko talaga siya inexpect kasi nga, YOLO ako nun eh, I [partied] almost every night,” Awra explained.

She continued, “Super gimikera talaga ako nun, I just want to have fun talaga and makalimot ng problema, so in short tinatakabuhan ko mga problema ko, hindi ko siya hinaharap, so nung nangyari siya sa akin, ‘di ako makapaniwala.”

Following Awra’s arrest, Vice cleared rumors about him dropping Awra as her manager.

The duo were previously seen together on multiple occasions, with Awra dedicating a heartfelt message for her manager’s 48th birthday.
