Awra Briguela has posted bail following her arrest after getting involved in scuffle outside a bar in Makati.
An ABS-CBN report said the former “Ang Probinsyano” star posted bail amounting to P6,000 and was released from the Makati Custodial Jail on Saturday night.
Awra or McNeal Briguel in real life, faced charges alarm and scandal, physical injuries, direct assault, and disobedience to person in authority.
But the charges were dropped to slight physical injury and simple disobedience to a person in authority, the report added.
A video of the 19-year-old actress went rounds on social media on Thursday after figuring in a brawl outside a bar in Poblacion, Makati and was being manhandled by police and bouncers.
According to a Philippine STAR report, City police chief Col. Edward Cutiyog said the complainant Mark Christian Ravana filed a charge of physical injuries against Awra while police filed charges of alarm and scandal and disobedience of persons in authority against the actress.
Ravana claimed Awra asked to remove his shirt which he refused. A fight ensued between his and Awra’s friends when the actress allegedly tore his shirt.
Cutiyog also stated that Briguela allegedly cursed at the authorities who responded to the incident, prompting them to handcuff and bring her to the police station.
A friend of Awra identified as Zayla Nakajima, meanwhile earlier spoke up about the incident, saying in a now-deleted Facebook post that the actress only came to her and another friend’s defense after allegedly being groped by a “creepy guy”.
Nakajima also claimed it was the guy who initially threw fists at Awra who fought back “as part of self-defense”.
Awra, meanwhile, has yet to issue a statement regarding the matter.
