Several fans reportedly felt dizzy and fainted while the P-Pop girl group BINI was performing at an event in Pangasinan.
Due to the multiple incidents of fainting, BINI members had to stop their performance to prevent the situation from worsening during the Bangus Festival in Dagupan, Pangasinan last Tuesday, April 30.
An estimated over 10,000 Dagupeños attended the annual celebration, based on ABS-CBN News’ report.
Videos circulating on social media showed BINI members visibly worried on stage as they reportedly witnessed event attendees lose consciousness due to the intense heat in the area.
On their X accounts, all eight members of BINI expressed their concern, addressing their fans and those who got hurt during the event.
“Maraming salamat Dagupan! Sana safe kayong nakauwi lahat. Sobrang saya naming makita kayo pero nakakalungkot lang din na may mga gano’ng nangyari kanina. Salamat sa pagmamahal at sana sa mga susunod na ganap, unahin natin ang safety ng bawat isa ❤️🩹,” wrote the group’s leader, Jhoanna Robles.
BINI Maloi left a sweet message to their fans in Dagupan, expressing her enthusiasm to return to the province.
“THANK YOU DAGUPAN FOR THE WARM WELCOME 🥺 kung pwede ko lang kayong yakapin lahat! sana okay lang kayong lahat, sana makauwi kayo ng safe, babalik at babalik kami, oki? GUSTO KO ULIT MATIKMAN YUNG BANGUS!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL, galing sa puso ko ‘yan :”),” the member wrote.
BINI’s Gwen also reminded everyone, writing, “[P]lease hydrate everyone iba ang init ngayon🥺 see you sa susunod na ganap blooms!”
BINI Colet apologized for cutting their performance short while Sheena emphasized their priority to keep everyone safe.
BINI’s Aiah expressed her appreciation for the efforts of their fans to attend and wait for their performance.
BINI’s Mikha and Stacey also took to social media to thank their fans for their overwhelming support during the event and reminded them to hydrate and get rest.
According to ABS-CBN’s report, Dagupan City’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management confirmed that some people indeed fainted during the event due to the heatwave.
The highest heat index in the country was recorded in Dagupan City on the day of the event, reaching a scorching 48 degrees Celsius.
