Viral street vendor Diwata arrested over 2018 ‘slight physical injuries’ case

Street food sensation Diwata was apprehended by police for a case of “slight physical injuries” filed against him back in 2018.

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Pasay City police apprehended Diwata, whose real name is Deo Balbuena, on Tuesday morning, April 16.

A video shared by the news outlet showed Pasay police officers presenting the warrant reportedly issued by the Pasay City Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) Judge Allan B. Ariola of Branch 48 in relation to the slight physical injuries case filed against him in 2018.

In the clip, an individual behind the camera can be heard mentioning Diwata’s altercation with another person in the past, which possibly led to the complaint.

Photos of the warrant of arrest and Diwata’s mugshots were also released on TV5 news platform News 5.

Pasay PNP Spokesperson PCapt. Mark Jun Anaviso confirmed the arrest, noting that Diwata promptly posted bail amounting to P3,000 after processing.

Diwata previously made headlines after he was announced as a new cast member in the hit Kapamilya action series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” where he will portray the character Frida.
