Marc Pingris has reacted to rumors linking him to FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star Kim Rodriguez.
The professional basketball player took social media on Thursday to shut down speculations of romantic involvement between him and the actress.
“Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez. Walang namamagitan sa aming dalawa gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao,” Marc stressed on his Instagram account.
Marc proceeded to explain that he had previously worked together with Kim at two basketball events.
“Nakasama ko po si Ms. Kim sa isang basketball event at sa isa pang event noong naging muse siya ng team namin.”
The basketball player then assured that everything is well with his and wife Danica Sotto’s family, asking the public for respect and refrain from sharing false information online.
“Salamat din sa nag pa abot ng concern. Ok kami ng pamilya ko. Wag na po tayo magpakalat ng mga balita na hindi totoo. Humihingi po kami ng respeto para hindi madamay ang mga anak namin ni Danica. Salamat po at God bless po.”
Speculations swirled after photos of Marc and Kim allegedly taken at the same tourist spot in Sydney, Australia circulated online.
Pebbles Duque, a close friend of the couple’s family, earlier dismissed the speculations, stressing that Marc’s photo was taken before February 16.
“My besfriend Danica and him have a very beautiful family. Holy week na, dasal na lang po tayo para naman mabawasan yung mga kasalanan natin,” quipped Duque in a Facebook post.
Kim’s photo, on the other hand, was only posted on her Instagram last March 25, 2024.
Danica, meanwhile, seemed to be unfazed by the rumors, after asking Duque to “keep calm”.
“Kalma miga! We love you!,” said Danica.
Danica and Marc have been married for 17 years and have three children together.
