Celebrity couple Karylle Padilla and Yael Yuzon celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows.
The renewal of vows, held on March 9, was a simple yet intimate affair, as highlighted in pictures shared by Karylle’s mother, Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Zsa Zsa took to Instagram to share her pride and extend congratulations to Karylle and Yael.
“Congratulations, K and Yael! It was a beautiful ceremony for your renewal of vows!”, she captioned a post.
The post garnered a flood of well-wishes and congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities in the comment section, including Carol Banawa, Ogie Alcasid, Iza Calzado, Agot Isidro, and Lorna Tolentino, among others.
Yael’s brother, Yan Yuzon, also took to social media to pen a sentimental message to the couple, his “favorite family”.
“May you have many more years of music, Disney trips, and the small daily moments of mindful affection that you value and hold very dear,” Yuzon expressed his wishes for the two.
Concluding his message, he wrote, “Mabuhay ang bagong bagong-kasal!”
The ceremony came weeks after Yael’s surprise proposal to Karylle during a live episode of the Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime” on February 26.
Hosts Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, and Ryan Bang had earlier congratulated their co-host following the successful run of her musical play, “Rama, Hari.”
Meanwhile, in a heartwarming moment, Yael took the opportunity to surprise his wife with an unexpected appearance on the show.
The Sponge Cola frontman expressed his pride and admiration for his wife with a loving greeting, saying, “I’m very proud as your loving husband.”
Prompted by Vhong’s reminder that the couple has been together for ten years, Yael took a moment to reflect on the journey of their marriage.
“Magti-ten years na kami na kasal. And alam mo, yung thing kasi na alam mo kasal na kayo ng ten years, parang mas naa-analyze mo yung mga things through the ups and downs, mostly ups, pero sa mga downs mas naa-analyze mo yung mga things,” he said.
Looking at Karylle, he continued, “Tapos kung sigurado ka back then, mas sigurado ka na now kasi meron na tayong ten years together. Pero meron akong hindi nagawa before. So, I’m gonna do it now.”
With that, Yael presented a ring, knelt in front of Karylle, and popped the question, “Will you marry me again?”
Karylle, without hesitation, replied with a “Yes”. The couple sealed the moment with a kiss, followed by Yael’s serenade for his partner with Sponge Cola’s very own song “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay.”
This marks the second time Yael has proposed to Karylle, with the first proposal taking place in their car.
The celebrity couple first tied the knot in 2014 at the San Antonio de Padua Church in Silang, Cavite.
