Late K-pop star Moonbin dearly remembered on his full moon birthday 

Fans, friends, and colleagues of Moonbin sent an outpour of love and wishes to honor the late South Korean idol on his birthday. 

“Moonbin” and “binnie” topped X’s trending topics as the online community greeted Moonbin on what would have been his 26th birthday on Friday, January 26.

Moonbin’s fellow ASTRO bandmates MJ, San-ha, Jinjin took to social media to write heartwarming messages and celebrate their brother’s special day. Cha Eun Woo uploaded on YouTube a piano cover of SLANDER’s Love is Gone which he said is a song he finds comfort in when he thinks of Moonbin. 

SEVENTEEN members DK and Seungkwan also paid tribute to their close friend as they wished him a “happy birthday.” Woozi also fulfilled his promise to release his single dedicated to Moonbin, “What kind of future,” on the latter’s birthday.

Moonbin’s 98-liner friends SinB and Umji of VIVIZ, IMFACT’s Ungjae, former The Ark and Uni.T’s Lee Suji, as well as MONSTA X’s I.M, and Weki Meki members, likewise, remembered Moonbin on his birth anniversary. 

Meanwhile, fans found Moonbin’s birthday more meaningful as it happened on a full moon. Fans have always associated Moonbin with the moon.

A netizen also mused, “Moonbin once said that he would like to be [reincarnated] as a wolf, and the first full moon of 2024 is named “Wolf Moon” and it happens to fall on his birthday.” 

Moonbin passed away at the age of 25 on April 19, 2023. He was found dead inside his residence in the Gangnam district in Seoul.
