Xyriel Manabat, Andrea Brillantes open to star in GL project together

Senior High stars Xyriel Manabat and Andrea Brillantes both opened the possibility of working on a Girls’ Love (GL) series together in the future.

In a report by Pilipino Star Ngayon, Xyriel shared her thoughts on doing an on-screen kissing scene for the first time during a press conference for the Senior High’s finale last Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 9.

According to the actress, she prefers to do her first kissing scene with a female co-star.

“Feeling ko kung mag-o-oncam ako or onscreen na first kissing scene, gusto ko talaga sa babae. Kasi feeling ko, mas kumportable ako pag ganu’n,” Xyriel admitted in an interview.

She explained, “Feeling ko, walang ilangan, less issue, less hassle, and experience siya, eh. So parang fulfilling po siya for an experience of an actress.”

When asked if she could mention the name of an actress that she would be open to doing a scene with, Xyriel’s personal choice was her close friend and Senior High co-star Andrea Brillantes.

The former Dirty Linen actress shared an anecdote about “teasing” Andrea by jokingly courting her in the past. This made the controversial young actress feel “kilig”, especially when Xyriel “serenaded” her.

Xyriel also candidly shared that Andrea is also game to play GL roles.

To this, Andrea explained her interest in the genre, saying, “Pansin ko lang po kasi, there’s a lot of BL (Boy’s Love) series now, hindi pa po masyadong madami sa GL.”

She added, “So, if ever lang naman po, I would be comfortable doing with my best friend (Xyriel). Kasi, magaling siyang aktres, eh. And madami kaming makukuha sa isa’t isa.”

Meanwhile, viewers continue to be gripped by the increasingly intense revelations as the last two weeks of intense revelations in Senior High draw to a close.

The “Ender to Remember” finale episode can be watched on January 19 at 9:30 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and Kapamilya Online Live on its YouTube channel and ABS-CBN Entertainment’s Facebook page.
