Michelle Dee speaks up on Miss Universe owner Anne Jakrajutatip’s ‘Move on, Philippines’ issue

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee aired her thoughts on the viral video of her allegedly being disrespected by Miss Universe owner Anne Jakrajutatip in an event after the Miss Universe 2023 coronation night.

A video of Anne supposedly asking pageant fans, especially of Michelle and Miss Thailand Anntonia Porsild, to “move on” after failing to secure the crown raised eyebrows from netizens.

Anne’s “Move on Philippines”, “Move on Thailand” remarks in front of the camera with Michelle by her side angered pageant fans who noticed that the gesture left the beauty queen uncomfortable.

Anntonia won first runner-up while Michelle concluded her Miss Universe journey in the Top 10. She brought home four special awards including Best in National Costume, Spirit of Carnival, Miss Universe’ fan vote, and Voice for Change.

Addressing the issue on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, Michelle believes Anne did not have ill intentions but could have shown more respect to the fans.

“Even though she might not have had bad intentions, the way it was executed, delivered, it could’ve been better,” said Michelle.

She added, “I frankly think there’s always a better way to be more respectful to the fans. But of  course, do I believe that it was done with malicious intent? I try to see the best in everybody.
