Award-winning actress Nadine Lustre lashed back at netizens who were accusing her non-showbiz boyfriend Christophe Bariou of cheating on her with another woman in Siargao.
It all started after an online user @satorreedgar commented on Christophe’s recent Instagram post, “Hi sir @cbariou someone told us from Siargao that you been hanging with @maryloubvckvr for these past few days using Nadine’s jeep, you’ve been always with her surfing, eating, and skating, we just wondering why you always spend time with her while Nadine is in Manila? We just hope di mo niloloko si Nadine mataas pa naman respeto namin sa [iyo] ?.”
The user even directly mentioned the alleged “third-party” in the comment who is a Filipina-German surfer based in Siargao.
This did not sit well with Nadine who spoke up to defend her partner.
“Stop acting like you’re concerned. You’re just another hater tryna create drama. 2023 na, gawa nalang tayong vegan cheese,” the actress wrote.
Another user @siilechim insisted their concern over her relationship and even mentioned her ex-boyfriend James Reid who they also alleged of cheating, “@nadine sana nads di siya kagaya kay james na manloloko ayaw naming makitang niloloko ka at sinasaktan ? Same before lagi mong pinagtanggol pero niloloko ka pa rin ?.”
“We just hope yung concern ng siaoganhon na nakakita kay @cbariou at marylou ang mali. Malayo ka nads yong taga siargao ang laging nakakakita kung sino palagi kinakasamang babae ni chris sa siao, so sana wag masyadong magtiwala kay @cbariou pinagdaanan mo nayan we hope u learn the lesson ?CONCERN KAMI SA IYO ❤️,” they added.
Likewise, Nadine took offense and responded to the “concerned fan” by lecturing them about having old-fashioned and malicious opinions.
“How rude and offensive. Lagi ko ding kasama yung mga guy friends ko recently, but that doesn’t mean I’m cheating. Di ba siya pwedeng magka friends na girls? Di ko kaya yung backwards mentality mo teh. It’s giving pre-pandemic,” she wrote.
Christophe also reacted to the comment, noting that he was responding not because he felt obliged to, “@silechim Heres your award for showing your ‘support & concern’ in the worse way possible: by publicly insulting Nadine’s partner on his page and comment section, asking her not to trust him and for believing and spreading chismis.”
On her verified X account, Nadine also reiterated to her fans and followers that it’s normal for people to have friends of the opposite sex despite being in a relationship.
“Normalize girls having guy friends. Normalize guys having girl friends,” her X post read.
Nadine recently made headlines after winning her second FAMAS Best Actress award at the 71st FAMAS Awards Night for her performance as Kichi in Greed, a horror thriller film under Viva Films.
Nadine and Christophe made their relationship public in January 2022. The romance between the two began after the actress moved to Siargao where Christophe was based.
It can be recalled that Christophe opened up about his battle with cancer last June after being diagnosed three years ago.
