Regine Tolentino said she felt terrified and humiliated after experiencing a wardrobe malfunction during a performance on It’s Showtime.
The actress took to Instagram to apologize over the nip-slip incident that happened when she had a showdown routine with Sheree Bautista and the Showtime Babydolls for a dance number on the noontime show.
Regine said her staff and a staff from It’s Showtime had little time to prepare the live performance with the latter “securing my costume seconds before going on stage”.
“Because of the rush and stress before hitting the stage, the other nipple tape was not secured properly but the costume itself was super safe. Unfortunately, when I started dancing, mejo na over ‘hataw’ ko…and I had a costume mishap that I discovered halfway through my performance,” said Regine in an Instagram post.
“Some close and concerned It’s Showtime hosts, dancers and staff were shouting during my dance but I couldn’t understand until I looked down,” recalled Regine.
“I was so terrified and humiliated. However the show must go on and I finished my dance,” she added.
The “dance and fitness diva” then apologized and thanked It’s Showtime for its immediate action over the incident.
“I appreciate the effort of the It’s Showtime family for protecting me by removing my part on YouTube and disabling the fast forward and rewind feature. Thank you so much po and pasensya sa nangyari.”
Regine had earlier offered her apologies after the show’s “Rampanalo” segment, saying it was unintentional.
“Gusto ko lang po humingi ng pasensya sa nangyari, during sa prod ko. Hindi sinasadya dahil talagang live show, kaya pasensya na po sa costume malfunction kanina,” she said on air.
Regine and Sheree’s production has since been cut from the said It’s Showtime episode.
