‘We decided on forever’: Bea Alonzo announces engagement to Dominic Roque

Bea Alonzo is now engaged to marry boyfriend Dominic Roque after two years of being in a relationship.

The actress announced the happy news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, sharing the details on how the actor asked for her hand in marriage.

The engagement happened at sunet in the middle of a photoshoot with photographer Mark Nicdao at Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar in Bataan on Tuesday, July 18.

“In the middle of the shoot, Mark Nicdao kept telling me to turn around because he wanted to shoot the back side of my dress. I found it a bit odd, but when I turned around, I found Dom kneeling with a box in his hand,” shared Bea.

“You see, I have done so many proposal scenes in my entire career, but nothing beats the real thing. I have been doing it all wrong! Hahaha, Dom said his speech, and it’s like time stood still,” the actress continued.

“Everything went in slow motion. And I felt different emotions all at the same time—joy, excitement, love.”

The snaps showed candid snaps of Bea “bawling” and in shock over Dominic’s surprise proposal.

“I want this real thing to happen forever… and right then there… In front of the people we love… we decided on forever,” said Bea.

Being proposed to while doing a shoot and looking glamorous seemed like Bea’s wish was granted.

Just this month, in an interview for Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Bea confirmed that she and Dominic have been talking about marriage. She also shared that she only had one request to her boyfriend if and when it would happen.

“We always talk about it but only in jest. I would say, ‘O, baka doon ka pa mag-propose kaya kailangan maganda ako,’ because we have (out of the country) trips that are already set…

“So parang jino-joke ko s’ya na baka doon pa mag-propose kaya dapat maganda ako. But me, I always talk about our future like building a family together.”

Bea first confirmed her relationship with Dominic in August 2021 after months of dating speculations.
