Kris Aquino reveals breakup with Mark Leviste; politician posts ‘Love never fails’

Kris Aquino shared that she has already broken up with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste, who also appeared to have reacted to the TV host’s revelation via social media.

On a Monday night, July 10, Kris poured her heart out in a lengthy Instagram post revealing her split with the politician.

“This is a long overdue Gratitude post. Marc (yes it’s with a C) @markleviste is leaving to go home to fulfill his obligations to his Batangas constituents,” Kris started.

“Nobody [I’ve] ever been in a relationship with has ever given me as much love & encouragement. He wasn’t only my boyfriend, he became my best friend and confidante, talagang maaasahan,” she described Mark as a partner.

“The usage of WAS is correct,” Kris stressed.

“My condition (the connective tissue disease which in my case seems to be my Churg Strauss, the progression of my Crest Syndrome, and the start of both rheumatoid arthritis and SLE) has gotten progressively worse, from all my physical manifestations (namamaga both my right & left knees, there’s excruciating pain especially on my entire left leg, and my right knee, swelling in my lower back, and purplish blue toenails (the pain is so bad that taking a few steps kinakaya ko BUT longer walks kailangan nang mag wheelchair.),” the TV host explained her current medical condition.

Kris explained that she decided to take a “pause” on their relationship because her condition would make a long-distance relationship between them “next to impossible”.

“I asked Marc for a pause because with my condition the way it is now, [I’m] self aware enough to know that a long distance relationship will be next to impossible for us to maintain,” she said.

“For the Filipinos working all over the world, [I] know [I’m] blessed to have kuya Josh & [B]imb with me- but most moms reading this will agree, we don’t want our kids to suffer from anxiety about our health, especially kung solo parent ka like me,” she lamented on being a solo parent to her sons Josh and Bimby.

Kris thanked Mark’s children who she referred to with their initials, “To A.L. and C.L. thank you for being so warm, polite, appreciative and so easy to get along. Like [I] promised while your dad’s not around[,] consider the home we’ve leased to be yours as well.”

She also expressed her gratitude to her ex-boyfriend for being her support while her sons went back to The Philippines.

“Thank you Marc for being here for me especially when my 2 “giants” went home BUT our reality is that there’s a Pacific Ocean that divides us, a 15 hour time difference, and a 13 hour flight. You know how much [I] believe in you and the last thing [I] want is to be an obstacle in your career as a public servant,” Kris said.

“This isn’t just a line, you will always have a place in my heart,” she wrote to Mark.

Despite their short-lived romance, Kris thanked Mark for making her experience love again.

“We may not have had our “happily ever after” but being sick has really taught me to look at the glass half full- thank you for giving me the chance to again experience the magic of Once Upon a Time,” she wrote with a yellow heart emoji.

Meanwhile, Mark posted an Instagram story the following day after Kris announced their breakup

In his Instagram story, he posted their photo with Bible quotes from 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”

“It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth,” the caption read.

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails,” it added.

He also tweeted in another account, “LOVE NEVER FAILS”, with the same yellow heart emoji in Kris’ previous post.

Kris noted earlier that the vice governor of Batangas is flying back to The Philippines to fulfill his duties as a public servant.
