June 18 is another special day to celebrate our fathers’ love and support for their beloved children. Several celebrities have taken to social media with their heartfelt messages and appreciation posts for their super dads.
Athlete Juliana Gomez is no exception in showing off his dad, actor-politician Richard Gomez, and his fatherly love and support for her.
Before Richard Gomez became one of the top leading men in the showbiz industry, his past was colored with sports which he apparently passed down to his unica ija.
Prior to his acting career, Richard represented the Philippines internationally in both volleyball and fencing. Today, he heads the National Sports Associations of Fencing and Modern Pentathlon while serving as the Representative of the Fourth District of Leyte.
Julian also developed an inclination for sports, specifically fencing and volleyball.
In an Instagram post, Juliana proudly showed the world how her dad nurtures her life of sports, win or lose.
The athlete posted photos of her and his dad during the UAAP Season 85 Fencing Championships last February. Juliana won a gold medal during the tournament and her photos showed Richard putting the medal on her daughter’s neck.
Along with the awarding, Juliana also let in netizens on her personal conversations with her dad, sharing a few screenshots of Richard’s messages.
“Play well today. I pray that the good Lord will be on your side as you play your way to victory. I asked my guardian angel to be with you all throughout your competition and to guide you to victory. love you!,” Richard wrote in one of the messages.
“Why do you have to say sorry to me? That’s ok. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we win. Just do better next time and don’t pressure yourself when you play. Take out the trash in your head and just focus on the game and winning,” another message read.
Juliana’s besties, siblings Claudia and Julia Baretto, have reacted to the athlete’s post.
“I love this,” Claudia commented on Juliana’s post, while her sister Julia left a like.
Both are known for having a strained relationship with their father Dennis Padilla, who has recently had an emotional reunion with their aunt, Claudine Baretto.
It can be recalled that Claudine criticized Dennis for berating his kids on social media in September of last year.
Claudine made the statement after Dennis responded to Julia’s comments regarding their present relationship in an interview with TV journalist Karen Davila.
