“Ako ang i-bash niyo”: Paolo Contis asks public not to bash ‘new’ Eat Bulaga

In the Eat Bulaga episode on Saturday, June 10, host Paolo Contis had an appeal to people bashing the noontime show.

The Saturday’s episode marked the first week of the show with the new set of Dabarkads, namely Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Alexa Miro, and twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi as the replacements of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, also known as TVJ.

“Lahat ng pagod, lahat ng effort na araw-araw makasama namin kayo, lahat ng pangaalipusta, lahat ng pangba-bash, lahat ng pangmumura sa’min ng mga tao, lahat po iyan inspirasyon namin to do better,” Paolo said in his closing spiel recalling their experiences during their first week as Dabarkads.

Paolo also lauded the efforts of the Dabarkads in the studio, referring to the staff and crew of Eat Bulaga. He called the cameramen, writers, director, and bosses as they were shown all smiles on camera.

They don’t deserve it,” Paolo stressed as the camera continued to show the rejoicing crew with some wiping away tears.

“Maybe I do, maybe I do, but they don’t!” Paolo added. “Sila po, ang staff, ang crew, sila po ang tunay na Eat Bulaga.”

Paolo passed the microphone to former Manila mayor Isko “Yorme” Moreno who was announced that day as the latest addition to the Dabarkads.

Yorme then likened the current situation of Eat Bulaga to the end of a long-term relationship of two people — both have to adjust and have their own “hugot”. He continued that this is “normal” and that to them, the support of fans, viewers, and crew of the show is the most important.

Paolo chimed in to ask Yorme if he would also grace next Monday’s episode with his presence.

“Kailangan pa bang i-memorize ‘yan?” Yorme answered, which the hosts and audience cheered on.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that TVJ and other Dabarkads signed a deal with Mediaquest Group “to produce content for TV5 and other Mediaquest platforms”.

This marked their official transfer to TV5 network where according to Former Sen. Tito, Eat Bulaga will retain its name as their upcoming noontime show.
