5 fun facts about SHINee’s Choi Minho

Choi Minho of Kpop boy group SHINee will be back in the country in a few days for his first-ever fanmeet!

The South Korean superstar returns to the Philippines on Saturday, January 28, for the Manila leg of his “Best Choi’s Minho Lucky Choi’s” tour happening at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Get familiar with SHINee’s “Flaming Charisma” with these interesting facts.

Childhood dream

If he wasn’t an actor or idol, Minho could have been a football player. Minho dreamed of becoming a footballer when he was young but his father, a former football player himself and  a professional football coach, was against it. Nonetheless, he still loves playing and watching football until now.

Model, idol, actor debut

Minho initially debuted as a model in 2006 before debuting as a member of SHINee in 2008, at 16 years old. The Kpop star was scouted by the staff of SM Entertainment while eating at a ski resort with his brother.

He made his acting debut in the 2010 KBS drama special “Pianist” and since landed lead roles in popular series such as “To The Beautiful You” and “Hwarang”. He currently stars in the Netflix series “The Fabulous”.

Audition songs

After being followed for months by the SM Entertainment’s casting staff in his school, Minho eventually auditioned for the company. He, however, blanked out during the audition and couldn’t think of a song to sing.

His final audition piece? The South Korean national anthem and his school hymn.

Flaming Charisma Minho

Minho is not called “Flaming Charisma ” for nothing. From being SHINee’s visual and rapper, the 31-year-old got to showcase more of  his charisma and talent in his recently released solo mini album “Chase” which was released last December.

‘Sexiest Man Alive’

Face, talent, body, Minho certainly got it all!

In 2017, the Kpop star was included in Vogue Magazine’s 12 Sexiest Men Alive list which were selected based on personalities’ “intelligence, charm, and social awareness”.

“A K-pop veteran with a voice like silk, his mere presence leads to headlines and fainting fans: What more do you need to know?,” Vogue wrote as description while mentioning how Minho stole the spotlight from Melania Trump during her visit to South Korea.
