Pia Wurtzbach, Jeremy Jauncey partner with WWF Philippines for sustainable local fishing

Celebrity couple Pia Wurtzbach and Jeremy Jauncey have teamed up with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Philippines to support the fishermen in Albay, Bicol.

The Miss Universe 2015 was happy to announce that they were making their first out-of-town trip in the country meaningful through WWF’s Bigay Tibay project.

“It’s an effort to produce new, stronger and more resilient boats that can withstand rougher waves for fishermen who lost their means for livelihood due to typhoons,” she explained.

Pia said they will try to raise P21 million to build 27 steel fiberglass boats, in support of sustainable local fishing.

She then promised that she will update their fans with details of the campaign in a YouTube vlog soon.

It was just days ago when the Scottish businessman shared a sweet snap of him and Pia in front of the famous Mayon Volcano.

He also spoke about their support for WWF’s cause.

“In 2020 alone, 3 consecutive typhoons battered Lagono Gulf in Albay, destroying the fishermen’s homes, communities and most importantly their only source of income, their boats.

“We’re here to spend time with them and support a campaign to help them build back better with new boats, resources & education,” he shared.
