Filipino-American rapper Apl.de.ap has reacted to social media posts claiming he is backing the candidacy of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in the upcoming national elections.
A certain Facebook page on Thursday posted screenshots of a poster which featured Apl.de.ap as one of artists supporting the BBM-Sara tandem, as well as clips of the Black Eyed Peas member supposedly performing in campaign rallies.
“Pati si Apl.de.Ap pineke niyo,” said the Facebook page while stressing that the person in the photos and clips is just a lookalike and an impersonator of Apl.de.ap.
Reacting in the comments section himself, Apl.de.ap left three facepalm emojis.
“Not me,” he said in a tweet denying he was the one in the photos and clips.
Apl.de.ap also denied his supposed inclusion in the list of celebrities for the Marcos-Duterte tandem.
“Country over party. Not endorsing any candidate,” said Apl.de.ap.
