Three-year-old girl cries her heart out after learning that ‘Papa Jesus is dead’ from social media

Another proof that kids have the purest and innocent minds.

A father from Quezon City heard his three-year-old daughter crying her heart out in their living room last January 24, 2022. Jerome Carpio immediately approached his daughter to find out what happened.

“One morning, I was fixing up to go to work. I heard my daughter crying hysterically. So I rushed to her to see what’s going on. To my surprise, she was crying because she was scrolling to the feeds of TikTok when she encountered a video of Papa Jesus then her yaya told her that Jesus is already dead,” Jerome recalled.

Jerome had no choice but to comfort his daughter Mango as she continued to cry over the information she learned online. It took her about five minutes before she stopped crying.

“You can even hear in the video her yaya Jo saying ‘ang hirap magexplain’). So I gave her time to calm down and explain to her that he died and rose again and now forever lives in our hearts. Now, everytime I ask her where’s Papa Jesus, she will answer, ‘here in my heart’,” he added.

Jerome and his wife Christel introduced Papa Jesus to Mango through their daily night prayers. That is why their daughter describes Papa Jesus as the one who always loves them and the one who always takes care of their family.

“We started praying together before going to sleep when Mango was about 2 yrs old. We introduced her to ‘Papa Jesus’ through night prayers. We always give thanks and wish for safety before going to bed. So everytime she does something against our family values, we often use Papa Jesus as an example of doing good to other people. Everytime we use Papa Jesus in the context, she always listens,” Jerome shared.

Jerome described his daughter as a fast learner and a very curious toddler. He added that they did not expect that the video would go viral as he regularly posts random content about Mango.

The uploaded video on social media has already garnered more than 40,000 views and 3,000 comments.
