Celeb couples grateful to receive first jab against COVID-19

Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, as well as Jolina Magdangal and Mark Escueta, already received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Quezon City over the weekend.

The celebrity couples took to social media to share their experience and thank their LGU over the smooth inoculation process.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Jolina said getting inoculated against the virus was an answered prayer.

“Prayed for this for so long,” she wrote as she shared photos from the vaccination process at Batasan National High School, which she said started by downloading and signing up on the eZConsult app.

The Magandang Buhay host also shared a photo of her and Mark with Regine and Ogie.

Jolina’s rocker-husband, on the other hand, shared that getting the first jab was like being injected with “peace of mind” that has been robbed by the ongoing pandemic.

He also said that they were able to secure a vaccination slot because they belonged to the A3 priority group or people with comorbidities.

“Everyday, hati kami ni Jolina sa 50mg na Losartan para sa control ang aming blood pressure, kasabay ng vitamins namin. Meron din akong iniinom for cholesterol. Di naman public information ang medical history pero ngayon ang daming judgemental na tao kaya kailangan biglang mag explain,” the Rivermaya founding member wrote on Instagram.

He also gave detailed instructions on how to sign up for a vaccination slot.

“Gawa lang ng account sa eZconsult na app. Fill in all the details and follow the instructions. Magkakaroon din kayo ng QR Code, under ‘Health Passport’. Hahanapin din yan sa Vaccination Center para madali makita info niyo.

“Pag mahirapan makakuha ng sked sa app, kausapin mismo ang inyong LGU and they should assist you. Bring your ID and some medical documents to support your comorbidities,” he added.

According to Mark, five hours since the injection, he has yet to experience any side effects. He then addressed his and Jolina’s young children in his post: “This is for you, Pele and Vika. We will have a long and happy life together, in Jesus name, AMEN ?.”

Meanwhile, Ogie also thanked the Quezon City local government unit for vaccinating him and his wife who also fell under the A3 priority group.

“Kaming mag-asawa ay may comorbidity kaya nakakuha po kami sa QC ng slot at kami ay napabakunahan na. Sa mga taga-QC, download po natin ang EZ consult app para maka rehistro na po tayo at antayin natin ang abiso sa e-mail natin. Ty QC gov’t. God bless us all.”

As of Sunday, April 18, the Quezon City government has vaccinated 121,621 people, including frontliners, senior citizens and people living with comorbidities.
