‘Mukha akong tanga’: Heart Evangelista looks back on younger self’s approach to love

In an all-about-love conversation with Maja Salvador, Heart Evangelista couldn’t help but express some regret over how her younger self dealt with matters of the heart.

When asked how to avoid being “selosa”, the Kapuso star said feelings of jealousy are “hindi nakakaganda.”

She admitted that when she was younger she was sensitive with these kinds of feelings since actors, she said, are “legally cheating” on each other by kissing other people.

“Mahirap siya intindihin pero nung tumagal ako parang naisip ko na tatanda ako diyan sa kakaselos at hindi siya nakakaganda,” she said.

Heart then used her mutual understanding (MU) days with John Prats as an example, revealing that she used to chase guys around.

“Mukha akong tanga. Ang panget-panget ko tuloy tignan kasi kahit gaano kaganda yung babae ‘pag wala siyang self-worth or habol siya nang habol na alam mong lagi lang nandyan, i-te-take mo siya for granted,” she shared.

The 36-year-old also echoed Maja’s answer to the question, that jealousy is best overcome with assurance from a mature partner.

“Depende rin sa partner mo na ako rin I’m with somebody who is mature, who is very wise. It’s all about, again, reassurance. Wala akong selos selos, mas complicated ako.

“He was married before, he has two kids so it’s really hard to understand especially nakapaka-immature ko noon. Pero ngayon, I feel na I’m different and mas nakakaganda talaga yung confident ka,” Heart said referring to her husband Sorsogon governor, Chiz Escudero.

On February 15, Heart and Chiz celebrated their sixth year of marriage together.
