Kumpirmadong na-deport ang representative ng Pilipinas na si Bb-Pilipinas Grand International Samantha Ashley Lo mula sa bansang France kung saan may connecting flight siya papuntang Caracas, Venezuela na siyang venue ng gaganapin Miss Grand International.
Umalis si Samantha ng Pilipinas noong October 9 para i-represent ang Pilipinas sa naturang beauty pageant. Ganun pa man, marami ang nagtataka dahil no show ang kandidata sa pre-activities ng kumpetisyon.
“Fast forward 3 months: The Samantha here is the product of all the love, support, and nurturing done by amazing people who constantly told her ‘Yes you can, and you will.’ See you soon Venezuela,” caption niya sa kanyang huling IG post.
Ayon sa French authorities, pina-deport nila pabalik ng Pilipinas ang beauty queen na nagmula sa Cebu dahil “she has no official passport record at the Department of Foreign Affairs.”
Peke raw ang dala nitong passport kaya naman na-hold siya for 13 hours sa Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for questioning na naging dahilan why she missed her flight to Caracas.
Ayon sa statement na inilabas ni Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Ed Meñez: “The Department of Foreign Affairs received reports that Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International Samantha Ashley Lo was unable to continue her journey to Caracas due to alleged issues with her passport.”
“Based on an ongoing investigation, the DFA confirms that Ms. Lo has no record in the DFA passport database and is continuing the process of ascertaining the facts of the case.”
Sobra pa namang excited si Samantha na mapanalunan ang korona sa Miss Grand International.
Hinihintay ng media ang masasabi ng Bb. Pilipinas organizers sa nangyaring ito kay Lo.
