Heart Evangelista became emotional after losing a newly adopted puppy.
In a series of Instagram stories on Tuesday, the animal welfare advocate shared her last moments with the aspin named Linda whom she just introduced to her Instagram followers last week, but passed away Tuesday morning.
“I lost Linda today… I only had a day with her before I sent her to the vet 🙁 I was really going to take her. I had a long talk with Panda,” wrote Heart.
“First time in a long time I felt a spark with my foster pup… crying like a baby. Such a sad morning,” she added.
Heart added that even if Linda had only been with her for a few hours, she made her feel happy.
“She was so attached to me… she would sleep beside me while I painted… this was her for a few seconds… then took her to her bed.”
The Kapuso actress also shared a photo of her eyes swollen from crying over her pup’s death.
“Not the type to post stuff like this but I guess we are all so vulnerable these days,” she wrote on the photo.
She added, “My dad told me maybe she was sent to save a loved one. I’ve been fostering since I was 13 and it’s always hard to give them away but it’s the first time I feel like I failed.”
Despite the sad news, Heart said she would continue fostering abandoned and neglected dogs. She also reminded and encouraged everyone to do the same.
“I’ve had cases of unhealthy dogs but they always seem to survive. Never lost a pup. Although this won’t stop me from fostering.”
“Just really really loved her. I knew she was going to end up with us.
“Adopt don’t shop… they have so much love to give.”
