Actress Yasmien Kurdi revealed that her daughter, Ayesha, underwent six months of continuous therapy following an alleged bullying incident at her former school.

Speaking emotionally on Tuesday’s episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Yasmien shared the therapy played a crucial role in helping her daughter cope.

“It’s very helpful for her, kasi dahil sa mga panic attacks and anxiety attacks niya,” Yasmien said.

Yasmien also opened up about a past controversy involving her daughter at school, which centers on her child’s personality.

In the interview, the actress recounted how the incident drew attention and concern, noting that it became a significant moment in their family’s journey. She explained that the situation shed light on how her daughter was perceived by others, and how it ultimately shaped their approach to her education and well-being.

“It was about her personality, they were forcing her to change her personality. They did ganged up on her, hinarangan siya sa pintuan ng 79 students, and then to change her personality daw, and then to the point na she has to state 10 negative things about herself. Number 1 “I’m a bad student”,  number 2 “ what I do is wrong”, number 3 “it’s all my fault, I’m a bad role model”, hanggang number 10 “please! I want to eat.”

Determined to protect Ayesha, Yasmien withdrew her from the school and shifted her to homeschooling.

“I had to protect her. Tatanggalin ko na agad siya sa environment na ‘yon. Kung toxic, toxic. Tanggalin na” she said.

Ayesha had to start from zero, completing her seventh-grade lessons in just two months with the help of her father. Yasmien proudly shared that her daughter even excelled in subjects like Math.

She credited the combination of therapy and a supportive homeschooling setup for Ayesha’s steady recovery. Eventually, with her therapist’s approval, Ayesha returned to her school.

“Lumalaban sila. Like, I’m really happy for Ayesha.” Yasmien said.

“Though nandun pa rin ‘yung mga episodes na natri-trigger pa rin siya and all, but, you know, ‘pag may ganon, we go back again sa therapy. But you know we’re healing slowly.” Yasmien shared.

Last December, Yasmien publicly addressed on social media the alleged bullying incident involving her daughter at Colegio San Agustin (CSA). The school, however, released a statement saying that “there appears to be no bullying” that took place.
