Previous interviews of then couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have resurfaced now that they confirmed the end of their 11-year romance.
As fans and non-fans air their devastation over the former reel-to-real couple’s split, netizens looked back at a clip of Kathryn and Daniel talking about loyalty amid speculations on the cause of their breakup.
“Loyalty for me is being contented. Because if you are contented, you won’t look for (another) person anymore, right? So, loyalty equals contentment,” said Kathryn.
The actress pursed her lips after and put her hand on her chest in the said clip taken from the finale media conference of their series 2 Good 2 be True in October 2022.
Daniel, on the other hand, thought of his furbaby Summer when asked the loyalty question.
“Yung aso ko, si Summer. Yun pinaka-loyal,” said the actor.
“Kahit ano mang pinagdadaanan ko ngayon, kung ano mang sitwasyon o emosyon ko ngayon, kung sino ako ngayon, tatanggapin ako nang buong-buo nun. ‘Yun ang loyalty. Walang judgement kung sino ka,” he added.
The ex-couple’s responses at the time grew concern amomg fans, sparking breakup rumors with some also speculating that their actions towrads each other at the same event seemed “awkward”.
The split rumors was eventually dismissed with a photo of them in Palawan appearing in good spirits.
On Thursday, both Kathryn and Daniel took to Instagram to isssue statements confirming their breakup after 11 years together.
The two also paid tribute to their relationship and their fans, Kathniels.
