Angelica Panganiban reflects on a ‘rollercoaster’ decade

“Nawalan ng mga kapamilya, karelasyon, kaibigan.”

Angelica Panganiban admitted the past decade was hard on her. The actress said it was a “rollercoaster ride.”

In 2010, she learned she was adopted and met her biological father Mark Charlson.

“Nalaman kong adopted ako, nagtago ako ng ilang buwan sa pamilya ko. Dahil hindi ko alam paano sila haharapin. Nahihiya ako sa kanila. Nakilala ko ang mga kadugo ko. Para lang siguro malagyan mo ng mukha yung mga taong nasa imahinasyon mo lang,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

She continued on to share how her mother succumbed to cancer. Despite her family surviving this loss, her father passed away shortly after her mom did.

“Iniwan din kami ni mommy Mila pagkatapos ng ilang taon. Kasabay ng taon na yun, nagkaroon ng cancer si mama. And we survived. Hindi nag tagal si papa naman ang namahinga,” she revealed.

In the face of tragedy, Angelica admitted there were times she wanted to give up already but she believes that after hurting and getting hurt, life should not stop there.

“Hindi ka dapat tapusin ng sakit. Kasi ang sakit ang magpapatibay sayo. Yun pala ang kailangan mo para makabangon,” Angelica said.

She ended her reflective post to reveal how in a span of the decade, she learned to forgive.

“Sa sampung taon natuto akong magpatawad. Natuto akong ipagdasal pa rin sila. Magdasal na hindi mawala sa akin ang aspeto na yun,” she said.
