Celebrity couple Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati have been in the parenting game for quite some time now. Their eldest, Zion, is six years old already and Kai, their bunso, is already a year old.
The actor shared that he is not a strict father to his two boys.
“I’m not super strict. There are boundaries, so I try not to be so strict. I try to let them be and let them decide and grow on their own. But we give them guidelines and boundaries,” he said in a report from Pilipino Star Ngayon.
Even with his busy schedule, Richard said he tries his best to pay close attention to Zion, who is at a “crucial age.”
“Now that Zion is six years old, yan yung age na crucial di ba? So you have to set discipline and kanya-kanyang ways lang naman kung paano mo idi-discipline yung child. I think talking to them and making them understand is number one priority more than anything,” he said.
“As a brother, Zion is makulit, makulit siya ngayon pero he cares for his brother now more,” Richard shared.
He revealed that him and Sarah have not thought about Zion entering show business. Richard and his twin brother Raymond started in the industry as child stars.
“He (Zion) enjoys singing, we’ll see. He’s still young so everything is like play time for him. Right now me and Sarah don’t really talk about it because we want him to focus on his studies and sports and different things. When the right time comes siguro,” he said.
