Catriona Gray feels ‘mix of emotions’ as Miss U reign nears end

It feels like it was only yesterday when Catriona Gray conquered the “universe” with her beauty, wit and ability to see challenging situations with “a silver lining.”

Now, the Pinay beauty queen’s reign as Miss Universe 2018 is coming to an end.

While doing one of her last activities for the international pageant, the 25 year old couldn’t help but express some thoughts on the last stretch of her Miss U journey.

“Feeling a mix of emotions shooting my final photoshoot for Miss Universe today! So excited for you all to see it,” she said on Instagram.

Meanwhile, in a video shared on the official Miss Universe Instagram, Catriona was seen wearing a Filipiniana for her “Year in the Life” shoot.

Throughout her journey from Bb. Pilipinas to Miss U, she has proudly donned and promoted traditional Filipino textiles and designs.

She said of her “Year in the Life” shoot: “It’s also kind of bittersweet, too, but super excited.”

“Time to share my journey of this year,” she added.

Miss U 2019 coronation set

Her last months as Miss U have been packed with activities.

Catriona was recently one of the presenters at the Latin American Music Awards and invitees at the 13th Annual #GoldenHeartAwards.

The beauty queen has also been busy doing charity work. She flew to Brazil to visit child beneficiaries for the cleft treatment nonprofit Smile Train.

“We were invited to the home of @smiletrain beneficiary Bernardo and upon the presentation of a mirror for which Bernardo could use one day to see his new smile, the tears came. It became so evident the strength that the families of these children born with cleft have. We saw the unconditional love they have for their children,” Catriona said.

Catriona’s most recent post showed her reunited with two former Miss U queens — Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere of France and Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler of Venezuela.

Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart, Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst and Miss Teen USA 2019 Kaliegh Garris also joined in the photo.

Catriona will turn over the crown to her successor on December 8, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gazini Ganados, the Philippine bet to the prestigious pageant this year, hopes to defend the title.
