WATCH: Marian Rivera reenacts iconic ‘Walang himala!’ scene under Dingdong Dantes’ direction

Marian Rivera and husband Dingdong Dantes reinterpreted Nora Aunor’s iconic Walang Himala monologue in an online fundraising live show by the Lockdown Cinema Club (LCC).

Gabi ng Himala: Mga Awit at Kwento was a tribute to the movie Himala, directed by the late Ishmael Bernal and penned by Ricky Lee back in 1982.

Nora Aunor’s iconic monologue proclaiming her truth has become one of Philippine cinema’s prized gems.

In the two-hour long livestream of artists rendering their own interpretations, Marian and Dingdong reimagined the scene in a modern setting.

As the director, Dingdong explained that their reinterpretation shows Elsa, played by Marian, as a healthcare worker in the United States.

The famous monologue was used by the actress to confess to her family that she has already acquired the symptoms of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In an Instagram post, Marian thanked the LCC for the opportunity to do what she loves while helping displaced film workers.
