After two years of being together, actress Andi Eigenmann and champion surfer Philmar Alipayo are getting married!
On Sunday, Andi announced the engagement news on Instagram with a photo of them at the beach, one of the obviously favorite spots for these Happy Islanders.
Andi said the proposal happened just the way she wanted it to be.
“I never thought about how my engagement would go because quite honestly, I didn’t think I’d have one. It would’ve been ok regardless, but it did happen,” she wrote.
“And it happened the way I wanted it and so much more. Nothing grand. Unprompted, simple and oh so sincere. That’s us. That’s him. That is how I want the rest of my life to be. I am over the moon, so stoked to be spending it with you my mahal @chepoxz!”
In a video on their YouTube channel Happy Islanders, the couple revealed that they got engaged during their recent family beach trip to Anilao, Batangas.
Secretly videotaping the moment, Philmar proposed on the third day of their getaway.
“Papa (Philmar) started whispering nice things to me about our life together and our growing family. He doesn’t talk about his feelings a lot so I was surprised,” Andi recalled.
Philmar went on tell Andi that he hopes to spend “his life forever with me” and “starts crying and keeps telling me even more how he feels.”
Then in Surigaonon, he asked her to marry him and pulled out the ring from his pocket.
“I started laughing and crying at the same time! Yung pang Best Actress nominee na. I don’t know what to say or do, so I took the ring and hugged him (laughs),” Andi said.
The engagement news is the latest milestone in the relationship of the couple who are now parents to two kids — one-year-old Baby Lilo and the second one, a baby boy, coming soon. Andi also has another daughter, nine-year-old Ellie.

As for Philmar, he promised to take care of Andi and their soon-to-be family of five.
He told his future wife in an Instagram post: “I love you so much. So happy to spend the rest of my life with you. Promise to take care of you, Ellie, Lilo and our coming baby number 3 and to make you laugh more and more everyday.”
“Together hinay hinajan nato maabot an ato mga pangandoy sa ato kinabuhe para sa ato pamilya. Mahal ko kamo karajaw gikan sa tibook nako kasing2 ? (Let’s slowly reach our dreams in life together for our family. I love you so much from the bottom of my heart),” the athlete added in his language, Surigaonon.
Andi and Philmar became romantically involved in 2018 after meeting in the surfing destination Baler, Aurora. Not long after, the actress decided to drop the city life to live in the island-paradise of Siargao, her now-fiancé’s hometown.
