Kapamilya shows to return to free TV via Zoe’s new A2Z Channel 11

ABS-CBN shows will start airing again on free TV via Zoe Broadcasting Network, Inc.’s Zoe Channel 11, which has been newly rebranded as A2Z.

In a statement from ABS-CBN on Tuesday, they announced that beginning Saturday (October 10), some of their entertainment shows and movies can be viewed through the new A2Z channel based on an agreement between Zoe and the Kapamilya network.

Zoe Broadcasting Network, Inc. was founded by Bro. Eddie Villanueva.

The return of these Kapamilya shows on free TV comes three months after Congress’ denial of the media giant’s bid for a fresh 25-year franchise to operate its free-to-air broadcast.

A2Z channel 11 will be seen on analog TV in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

“ABS-CBN and Zoe are committed to work together to provide entertainment, public service programs, and educational content to the public,” ABS-CBN said.

The statement didn’t indicate which shows or movies will be part of the A2Z programming.

But according to a media statement from Zoe Broadcasting, the “rebranded VHF channel will serve viewers with uplifting and inspiring shows of life, love and hope, educational programs, local and foreign movies, some of the best-loved ABS-CBN shows through a blocktime arrangement, and programs from licensors like Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN Asia), Knowledge Channel and others. Some of the programs on Zoe’s Light TV 33 will also air on A2Z.”

Some ABS-CBN big stars welcomed this development on social media.

“Better Days,” tweeted Vice Ganda, whose noontime show It’s Showtime is one of those reportedly joining the A2Z program line-up.

Other stars who reacted to the news were Judy Ann Santos, Angel Locsin and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

Regine wrote on Instagram: “You will see us on free TV again ? God is so good #kapamilyaforever ❤️??.”
