‘Hello, Love, Again’ breaks box-office records in PHl and North America, now showing in 1100 cinemas worldwide

“Hello, Love, Again”, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, has made yet another record-breaking achievement as the highest-grossing Filipino film in North America for its opening weekend.

The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster “Hello, Love, Goodbye” earned $2.4 million (₱141 million) across 248 cinemas in the United States and Canada, surpassing the $1.99 million (₱116.7 million) earned by its predecessor during its entire North American run.

According to American news site Deadline, the film debuted at No. 8 on the list of top-grossing films over the weekend, the highest for a Pinoy film, after opening in nearly 250 cinemas across North America.

Locally, Hello, Love, Again had also previously broke records achieving the highest opening-day earnings as it exclusively premiered in 500 cinemas, with 72 midnight screenings, in the country.

Within three days, the movie earned ₱245 million and has now pushed past its P500-million mark for its total global gross in less than a week.

The film is on track to surpass the record set by the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival official entry “Rewind”, starring real life couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, dethroning Hello, Love, Goodbye after surpassing a gross of P900 million at the box office.

Hello, Love, Again is currently showing in 1,100 cinemas worldwide and continues to dominate local and international cinemas as it is set to expand its reach later this week with openings in five countries across the Middle East including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, starting Nov. 21.

Meanwhile, Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards are currently in Los Angeles for their US and Canada tour and to promote their film for this year’s Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) happening at the end of Novemeber, where it has been selected as its closing show.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, Hello, Love, Again brings Bernardo’s Joy and Richards’ Ethan back together, picking up five years after the events of their first film.
