Jay Sonza has apologized for claiming that Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto is pregnant with Gerald Anderson’s baby.
The veteran broadcast journalist earlier congratulated Julia and Gerald in a now-deleted Facebook post, fueling online speculations that the rumored sweethearts are expecting a baby.
Following the furor, Julia and Gerald almost at the same time took to their Instagram accounts to address the issue.
Julia shared a photo of her flaunting her toned abs which she captioned “FAKE NEWS :)”.
Gerald, on the other hand, insinuated on how “fake news” spreads faster during these times.
The Kapamilya artist management arm Star Magic also released a statement denying the preganancy rumors, saying “definitely it’s not true.”
Sonza on Tuesday then stated in Facebook that he was gladdened with the denial and withdrew his well-wishes to the Kapamilya stars.
“May umamin kasi. Kaya nagalak ako. Kung ganoon po, binabawi ko ang aking masayang pagbati,” he said.
He added: “Happy & excited kasi ako kapag may nabibiyayaan ng buhay. Pasensiya na kung napaaga ang aking Congratulations. Itatabi ko na lang muna iyong regalo ko sa kanila.”
