Barbie Imperial falls victim to online shopping scam

Actress Barbie Imperial took to social media to share her unfortunate experience after getting scammed from buying and receiving the wrong item from a popular online shopping app.

In her now-expired Instagram Story, Barbie posted a screenshot of the product worth more than P4,000, with the caption: “HAHAHAHA SCAMMED. Help 😭”

The post showed the package she received which contained a pair of white socks instead of the supposed hand mixer from a popular brand.

It is worth noting that Barbie took classes at the Center for Culinary Arts in Manila last year.

Meanwhile, netizens had mixed reactions about the incident, some sympathizing with the Batang Quiapo actress and suggesting ways to refund her payment, while others criticized her for buying from unauthorized stores.

“Grabe, ang daming masasamang tao sa mga online stores ngayon. […] Sana aksyonan ‘tong kay Barbie. Iba kasi ‘pag celeb ang nagrereklamo,” a netizen commented in Fashion Pulis.

“Hahahahahah ate ko naman ‘pag ganyan ang name ng seller magduda ka na […] Price pa lang fake na more than 10k pesos ang kitchen product na yan […] And yung presyo ng mixer, ang mura. Obvious naman na scam,” pointed out some users.

“Most artista doesn’t have time to research where to buy, all they want to do is to click online,” one user defended the Kapamilya artist from a critical comment.
