Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto believes he is in no position to comment on the issue of hounding his father, Vic Sotto, in the upcoming Pepsi Paloma film by controversial director Darryl Yap.
During an interview on “Truth on The Line,” The Philippine STAR’s premier news and current affairs show, the local executive was asked about his reaction to his father’s legal battle against Yap.
“‘Yung pelikula about Pepsi Paloma, nag-demanda na yung papa mo although ang sabi ng mga tao, yung mga attacks sa kanya are actually directed against you. Ano yung pakiramdam mo dyan sa kasong yan?,” STAR’s editor-in-chief Ana Marie Pamintuan asked Vico.
Vico refrained from making a remark, saying he has insufficient knowledge about the case.
“Tingin ko hindi ako dapat mag-comment nun. Not because I don’t have an opinion, pero baka kulang yung kaalaman ko, pati tungkol dun sa kaso, kulang,” said Vico.
He added, “Hindi naman namin siya napag-usapan, so baka hindi ako dapat mag-comment.”
Vic formally filed 19 counts of cyberlibel complaints against Yap following the release of the trailer for ‘The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma,’ where his name was mentioned in connection with a decades-old rape allegation involving the late actress Pepsi Paloma.
The actor and Eat Bulaga host’s legal counsel, Atty. Enrique dela Cruz also revealed that the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court Branch 205 granted their Writ of Habeas Data petition, which prohibits Yap from promoting the film in any form while the case is ongoing.
