Korina Sanchez is officially the newest host of TV5’s revamped talk show, “Face To Face: Harapan.”
The multi-awarded journalist is set to bring “fresh and authoritative perspective” to the iconic series which will premiere on November 11.
Speaking to the media at a contract signing event on Thursday, Korina revealed it was “Wil to Win” host Willie Revillame who endorsed her to helm the show.
Korina said she accepted the project because she values authenticity and its ability to connect the general public despite the format’s unconventional format.
“Ako po ay sanay na mag-referee sa pagitan ng mga nag-aalitang panig. That led me to say YES!,” the broadcast journalist said during the contract signing event.
“Medyo controversial ‘yung format, ‘yung mga nangyayari sa bawat episode. Pero naisip ko kasi tunay na buhay ito eh. Ano pa ba ang pagpapanggap pa na gagawin natin tungkol sa araw-araw na buhay? And I’m all about authenticity. And there’s nothing wrong with authenticity,” she added in a media interview.
Korina added that she’s glad to be of assistance in the lives of the people.
“I want to be there. I want to be part of that. I want to be part of that reality TV and especially, and that’s in my DNA, I want to help. I want to help resolve things that’s just how I am.
Korina also enthusiastically shared a sneak peek to the upcoming episodes of the show.
“I love it, mangkukulam. Pinagbibintangan n’yang mangkukulam ‘yung kapitbahay niya,” said Korina.
“Paano mo nga yun aalamin kung totoo ba o hindi. It was a very interesting episode,” she added.
“Face to Face: Harapan” airs Monday to Friday at 4:00 p.m. before “Wil to Win,” on TV5.
